Scope

These terms of sale apply to every order for the book "Unequal Scenes" placed through the checkout at unequalscenes.com/checkout. They apply between the seller named above and the buyer, in the version shown at the time the order is placed.

Products and prices

The checkout sells the book "Unequal Scenes" in the editions and prices shown there. Prices are in euros for orders shipped to the European Union and Switzerland, in British pounds for orders shipped to the United Kingdom, in Canadian dollars for orders shipped to Canada, and in US dollars for orders shipped to all other countries. The price and any shipping cost shown at checkout at the time you place your order are the ones that apply. This page does not repeat prices or shipping costs.

No VAT is charged. Any import charges in your country are paid by you.

If shipping costs less than the shipping amount you paid, the difference is refunded to you after your order ships.

Ordering

To place an order, choose an edition and quantity on the checkout page, enter your contact and shipping details, choose a payment method, and confirm the order. Each order receives its own order number, shown on the confirmation screen once the order is placed.

When your payment is received, the seller sends an order confirmation by email to the address you gave at checkout. If you choose bank transfer, the seller first sends an email with the bank details and the payment reference, and the confirmation follows when your transfer arrives. The seller sends another email when your order ships.

Payment

You can pay by card in every currency the shop offers (US dollars, euros, British pounds and Canadian dollars), and with PayPal. Bank transfer is available for orders priced in US dollars, euros or British pounds. Card payments and bank transfers are processed by Stripe: your card details are entered directly into Stripe's own payment form and never reach the seller's own website code or servers. PayPal payments are made on PayPal's own page.

If you choose bank transfer, you receive bank details and a payment reference after placing the order. The order is held for 7 days. If payment has not arrived within that time, the order is released and the reserved copies become available again.

Delivery

All editions are pre-orders. The book is expected to ship in November 2026.

Orders may ship from different countries. Delivery times depend on the carrier and the destination and are not guaranteed.

Right of withdrawal for consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you, acquire physical possession of the book.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform the seller of your decision to withdraw from this contract by a clear statement, for example a letter sent by post or an email. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.

You pay the direct cost of returning the book.

If you withdraw from this contract, you will be reimbursed within 14 days from the day on which the seller is informed of your decision to withdraw. The seller may withhold the reimbursement until the book has been received back or you have supplied evidence of having sent it back, whichever is earlier.

If you live outside the European Union and the United Kingdom and want to return your order, write to [email protected].

Damaged or missing deliveries

If your order arrives damaged, or does not arrive, write to [email protected] and the seller will sort it out.
